West De Pere Phantoms – Division 2 State Champions

With the completion of the WIAA State Football Play-offs last Friday we can call it a wrap on the 2025 Fall Spots season. The Fox River Classic Conference had a season that it can be very proud of. In all, the conference had 10 teams qualify for WIAA State Tournament events. Bay Port (Girls Golf and Football), De Pere (Boys Cross Country), Green Bay Preble (Boys Cross Country), Notre Dame (Girls Tennis, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Soccer, Football) and West De Pere (Football). West De Pere came away with Division 2 State Football Championship defeating fellow FRCC member Notre Dame in the Championship game 28-14. Bay Port came within one play of repeating as the Division 1 State Football Champions narrowly losing to Arrowhead 18-15. Notre Dame Soccer finished as the runner-up in the Division 3 State Soccer Title match losing to Catholic Memorial 2-1.

Individually, the FRCC qualified a combined 48 individuals, double teams and relays to the State Tournament. Those individual were able to bring home a championship, a runner-up finish and three other podium finishes. Of particular note, every member school of the FRCC was represented in the State Tournament in one of the individual events of Girls Golf, Girls Tennis, Boys and Girls Cross Country or Girls Swim and Dive.
