FRCC Girls Wrestling History
Girls competed on boys wrestling teams for a number of years before the WIAA approved the establishment of the State Girls Individual Wrestling Tournament which held it’s first tournament on January 29, 2022. In 2023 the tournament moved to the Kohl Center to be conducted in conjunction with the State Boys Individual Wrestling Tournament.
The Fox River Classic Conference jumped right in with the advent of the WIAA sponsorship of Girls Wrestling and the number of girls competing in wrestling has continued to steadily increase.  Although the conference does not sponsor a conference Championship in girls wrestling it is hoped that the number of girls participants will rise to the level that a championship series can be implemented in the near future. Bay Port and Pulaski held the 1st ever girls dual meet in the 2024-25 season.

Brooke Corrigan, De Pere, was the first FRCC girls wrestler to win a State Championship in Girls Wrestling winning the 100 lb. weight class at the inaugural 2022 State Girls Wrestling Tournament as a freshman. Corrigan went on to win the title in the 100 lb. weight class two more times in 2023 and 2025 and she finished as the runner-up in 2024.
The FRCC has had 15 girls reach the podium in the four years of the Girls State Tournament. Pulaski is the only school that has had multiple wrestlers reach the podium. Four Different wrestlers reached the podium five times for Pulaski.
The list of 2024 podium finishers can be found in the Girls Wrestling records section linked here.Â

2024 has been the best year to date for the FRCC in Girls Wrestling. The Conference finished with two State Champions (Emjay Neumann – Manitowoc – 120 and Harlow Skenandore – Pulaski – 145) and two runner-up finishes (Corrigan – De Pere and Ava Peters – Pulaski – 107). Dakotah Athey – Bay Port – 114 placed 3rd.

In 2025, along with Corrigan, Neumann – 120 (2nd), Athey – 114 (5th) and Skenandore – 145 (3rd) again finished on the podium. These four were joined by first time podium finishers Leah Kapla – Pulaski – 138 (6th) and Destiny Deusterbeck – Sheboygan North – 235 (6th)
