Boys Tennis History
The Fox River Classic Conference began competing in 2007 when the eight schools of the former Fox River Valley Conference were joined by four schools from the Bay Conference forming a twelve team league.
Schools of the Fox River Valley:Â Green Bay East, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay Southwest, Green Bay West, Manitowoc Lincoln, Notre Dame Academy, Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South.
Bay Conference Schools:Â Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, De Pere and Pulaski.
This configuration of schools remained intact through the 2014 school year.  Green Bay East and Green Bay West left the FRCC and joined the Bay Conference at the start of the 2015 school year leaving the FRCC with 10 schools.
From the 2007 through 2014 school years the league was split into an East and West Division. The conference Champion was determined by dual meet records against conference opponents and a conference tournament.
In 2016, the FRCC discontinued the conference tournament and the conference champion was determined by dual meet records in a single round robin format.Â
2026 will see the addition of West De Pere to the FRCC taking the place of Sheboygan South who joins a new conference.Â
Notre Dame Academy holds the most conference championship with nine/ten total (Standings and results from either 2010 or 2011 are missing, and will need some research to rectify.) this includes either seven in a row from 2010 to 2016 or five in a row from 2012 to 2016. There was no champion recognized in 2020 because of the Covid Pandemic.
As a team, Notre Dame has two State Championships and four runner-up finishes in Division 2.
Johnny Zakowski, Green Bay Southwest, won the 2019 WIAA Division 1 Singles Championship. Notre Dame has won two Doubles State Championships: 2013 (Nick DelMoral and Mark Cullen and 2016 (Charlie Parish and Isaac Hingtgen). The FRCC can also boast 9 runner-up finishes in singles and doubles play. The FRCC can also lay claim to a podium finish every year except four since the FRCC began competition.
