ROPSON NAMED HEAD GIRLS SOCCER COACH AT  DE PERE

August 14, 2025

De Pere High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Adam Ropson as head coach of the Varsity girls soccer team.

Ropson brings extensive coaching experience to the program. Most recently, he was the Varsity assistant coach for the girls’ team for the past four seasons. In addition, he is a Varsity assistant for the De Pere boys’ team this fall.

Before joining De Pere as an assistant coach, Ropson served as the Varsity girls coach at Green Bay Preble High School for six seasons. Prior to that, he coached the Junior Varsity girls and boys teams at Preble for seven years. In total, he’s spent the past 17 years coaching high school soccer and has also been actively involved in club soccer for several years.

“I came to De Pere because it’s home for me and my family,” Ropson said. “My wife and I are raising our three children here (ages 7, 11, and 12), and all of them will attend De Pere High School in the years to come.

“I’m honored to take on this role and keep building the strong tradition of De Pere girls soccer. Soccer has always been more than just a game to me—it’s about teamwork, discipline, and confidence. I’m excited to work with our players, help them grow on and off the field, and represent De Pere with pride.”

“The Redbirds are excited to have Coach Ropson on board! Adam has been a fantastic assistant coach over the last few years, and he brings a ton of successful head coaching experience, too. The Ropsons are a great De Pere family with strong ties throughout our school community. We’re looking forward to his leadership,” said De Pere Athletics Director Jeff Byczek.

Ropson takes over a Redbirds program that finished fourth in the Fox River Classic Conference last spring. Coach Ropson can be reached at aropson@depere.k12.wi.us.
