FRCC Boys Hockey Tournament to be Held this Weekend

The first FRCC Championship of the 2025/26 Winter Sports Season will be determined this weekend in boys Hockey.  The FRCC will hold their Conference Tournament this weekend with a Preliminary game taking place on Thursday, the semi-finals slated for Friday and the finals on Saturday.

FRCC Hockey consists of five teams.  Those teams play each other once during the regular season to determine the seeds for the Conference Tournament.  Notre Dame locked down the #1 seed going 4-0 in conference play.  De Pere, Sheboygan and Bay Area Storm all finished at 2-2.  By virtue of the tie-breaker, De Pere was awarded the #2 seed, Bay Area Storm the #3 seed and Sheboygan the #4 seed.  Manitowoc United rounded out the field as the #5 seed.

Notre Dame is the defending FRCC Champion and has also been to the Division 1 WIAA State Championship the last three years finishing as back to back State Champions in 2023 and 2024 and as the runner-up in 2025.  The Tritons have had a lock on the FRCC since 2016 with only Bay Port being able to break that hold winning the FRCC in 2024.

A significant change occurred this year with Bay Port and Ashwaubenon coming together to form the Bay Area Storm Co-op.  Bay Port and Notre Dame had been the only two FRCC Hockey programs that had been competing as single school teams.  With Bay Port combining with Ashwaubenon, Notre Dame is the only team in the FRCC that does not co-op with another school for Hockey.

In addition to the Conference Tournament,  All-Conference Teams will be announced between the Consolation game and Championship game on Saturday.

Saturday, January 24 – Championship Saturday Sunday, Jan. 25. – Championship Sunday
Game played at Cornerstone Community Center

• • Consolation Game – Round 2 losers – 5:00pm Consolation Game Cancelled – Due to Ice availability.

• • Championship Game – Round 2 Winners – 7:30pm 6:00pm

Note:  All-Conference teams will be announced in between games. This is to be determined.
