 2025-26 FRCC Winter Sport Season Review

The 2025-26 winter sports season concluded in March with the completion of the WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament. The FRCC represented itself well across all the WIAA sports sponsored by the Conference during the past season.

Notable Accomplishments

  • The De Pere Voyageurs (De Pere and West De Pere Hockey Co-op) won their first FRCC Hockey Title and competed in their first WIAA State Hockey Tournament.  The Voyageurs were also the first Co-op team to win an FRCC Title.

  • Boys and girls wrestlers each had six podium finishes at the WIAA State Individual wrestling Tournament led by Alois Schlumpf of Bay Port who finished his career with four podium finishes at the State meet including a State Championship won at this year’s meet in the 132lb weight class.  On the girls side Emjay Neumann of Manitowoc finished her wrestling career with three runner-up finishes and one State Championship.
  • The FRCC was represented in all the WIAA State Team tournaments in sports sponsored by the conference.  In addition to the De Pere Voyageurs in boys Hockey, the Bay Port boys wrestlers qualified for the team State Wrestling championship as an at-large team losing in the semifinals.  The Notre Dame girls basketball team qualified for the WIAA Girls State Basketball Tournament for the first time in Division 1 and the De Pere boys basketball team qualified for the WIAA Boys State Basketball Tournament for the first time since winning it all in 2023.
  • In Boys Swimming the Bay Port 4 X 400 Freestyle Relay team set a conference record of 3:17.13 besting the old record of 3:17.40 set by a team from Green Bay United in 2018.  The team consisted of Carter Tebon, Griffin Schilz, Caleb Bartolazzi and Andy Barden.  Bay Port also won their tenth straight FRCC Swim and Dive Title.  FRCC swimmers had nine podium finishes in individual and relay events at the State Meet.
